Outdoor Learning

At St Mary's, we are lucky to have a Reception outside area with astroturf and shelters so children can access outside learning, whatever the weather.

We have a Key Stage 1 playground with a large climbing frame, football area, reading area, little library and floor markings. 

In the Key Stage 2 playground, we have an astroturf football pitch, exercise equipment, benches as purchased by the School Council, a little library, basketball area and floor markings. 

We have a large field and orienteering symbols that are in the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 playground. The orienteering markers can be linked to any curriculum areas so are part of our PE curriculum but also the wider curriculum to get our children active and learning outside of the classroom.
