Everyone is Welcome

At St. Mary’s, we warmly welcome children of all faiths and backgrounds into our caring, Catholic community. Rooted in core Catholic values, we believe that diversity enriches our school, promoting an environment of understanding, respect, and love for one another. Together, our children, families, staff, and parish community work to make St. Mary’s a place where every child feels safe, valued, and supported.

Our mission is built on the Catholic principles of love, growth, and learning. We show love by caring deeply for each other, embracing kindness, gentleness, respect, and forgiveness. Guided by these values, we encourage each child to understand their unique gifts and use them to contribute to the common good.

Here, we focus on helping children grow—in faith, in relationships, and in their understanding of themselves and others—so they may fully develop the talents given to them.

In this nurturing environment, we strive to instill confidence, curiosity, and courage in each child. Through meaningful conversations, activities, and values rooted in the Catholic faith, we teach children to be compassionate, respectful, and helpful to others. We encourage them to explore their own beliefs, share their thoughts openly, and appreciate the beauty in our differences.

At St. Mary’s, every child is encouraged to be themselves and to grow with a strong foundation of faith, respect, and care for all.

Pupils are extremely knowledgeable about fundamental British values. They talk in great depth about how these impact on life in school and society. Pupils are considerate of the views and beliefs of different groups of people. They are extremely tolerant and celebrate differences. The school arranges for pupils to visit different places of worship. This helps pupils develop a strong understanding of different faiths.
